If you haven’t heard from friends or coworkers about a fabulous new health clinic open downtown, you will soon! Knead Therapy opened at 256 Wallace Street (3rd Floor) in February last year and since then has grown in both size and reputation. Known for their massage therapy, Knead also offers acupuncture and will have a physiotherapist onboard starting June 1. Knead Therapy has a forward thinking team whose prime objective is to get patients back in their groove, back at their sport, or back to work. The three Registered Massage Therapists cover a wide range of special interests: Beverley Spidle performs deep tissue and enjoys the challenges of chronic and old injuries. Catherine Walton brings a special interest in working with recent car and work-related accidents. Aside from being a massage therapist, Paul Gonske is a certified yoga instructor and brings that special knowledge to his work on headache and jaw pain. Gentle stretching at home often assists on the road to recovery. All of the therapists at Knead work with low back pain, whiplash, and stress release. My own experience with the Krew includes rotator cuff injury, jaw manipulation and whiplash. If you’ve never enjoyed the benefit of acupuncture, I can tell you, I’m a convert! Lana Unger is a Registered Acupuncturist and Tuning Fork Specialist. Lana loves to work with the client as a whole rather than simply focusing on their specific condition. I’ve come to rely on Lana to uncover areas of my body that need treatment even though I’m unaware I need it. Effective June 1, the Knead Krew will welcome Joe Box, a Physiotherapist. With an interest in educating clients, his goal is to return people to their highest level of function possible. He works with post-surgical clients, accident victims and people with work- and sport-related injuries. Be sure to check the website for appointment times for Joe starting June 1. When I say forward thinking, I must mention the ease of booking appointments. Check out the website online booking system and you’ll love how easy it is to find a time that suits you. No more calling and being put on hold, just to learn the time you want isn’t available. You can book yourself around your own schedule and if it’s your first visit, you can download the intake information forms, fill them out and take them in which saves time on that first all-important visit.
